Ferrari's talisman, a home winner at Monaco, and the driver who won a dramatic 2026 British Grand Prix — Charles Leclerc is one of the fastest natural talents of his generation. Here's his story.
Who is Charles Leclerc?
Born in Monte Carlo in 1997, the 28-year-old Monégasque joined Ferrari in 2019 and has been the Scuderia's leading man ever since. Blisteringly quick over one lap, he holds a striking record: the most pole positions (27) of any driver never to have won the World Championship.
The Monaco moment
In 2024, Leclerc finally won his home race — the Monaco Grand Prix — becoming the first Monégasque to win it in 93 years, one of the sport's most emotional victories.
2026: victory at Silverstone
Leclerc won a chaotic 2026 British Grand Prix, holding on through a late Safety Car to take the win — see our race report. He sits inside the championship's top four.
The Ferrari project
Now partnered by seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, Leclerc is contracted to Ferrari through at least 2028 as the team chases its first drivers' title since 2007.
