During the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, Red Bull Racing encountered a cascade of technical and strategic problems that prevented the team from capitalising on their strong performance in the early stages of the race. Max Verstappen, who had been running in the top three for much of the weekend, was forced to retire from the race after a sudden loss of power from his power unit, according to a post‑race statement from the team. The incident, which occurred on lap 42, was described by the team as a “critical failure” that was not anticipated during the race weekend.

Isack Hadjar, who had been running a solid sixth place before the incident, was also affected by the power unit issue. Hadjar’s race was cut short when the same failure forced him to retire on lap 38. The Red Bull team’s chief technical officer later confirmed that the problem was linked to a malfunction in the turbocharger, a component that had been flagged during the practice sessions for irregular behaviour.

In addition to the mechanical setbacks, Red Bull’s race strategy was hampered by a miscommunication between the pit‑lane crew and the drivers. A delayed decision on the timing of the final pit stop meant that Verstappen and Hadjar lost valuable time, allowing rivals to close the gap. The team’s strategy director admitted that the decision was “made under pressure” and that a more conservative approach might have yielded better results.

For Indian fans, the race was broadcast live on FanCode from 2:00 PM IST, with commentary in Hindi and English. The outcome of the United States GP has significant implications for the championship standings, as Verstappen’s retirement leaves him a step behind Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in the points race. Red Bull’s performance in the next round, scheduled for the Italian Grand Prix, will be closely watched to see if the team can recover from this setback.
