Verstappen says Red Bull is pulling out all the stops for a stronger showing in Mexico
Max Verstappen revealed that Red Bull is intensifying development work ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, aiming to close the performance gap with rivals.

Max Verstappen told reporters that Red Bull Racing is "doubling down" on development work ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix, with the team aiming to be more competitive on the high‑altitude, fast‑flow circuit in Mexico City. Speaking after a testing session at the team's headquarters, the Dutch driver said the engineers have been focusing on aerodynamic upgrades and power‑unit refinements that suit the thin air and long straights of the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.
Verstappen explained that the team’s recent wind‑tunnel work and CFD simulations have produced a new front‑wing concept and a revised rear‑floor layout, both intended to increase down‑force without sacrificing straight‑line speed. "We know the track is unique – the altitude means the engine loses a bit of power, so we have to make the car as efficient as possible," he said. "The guys have been working around the clock, and we should see a noticeable step up in lap times this weekend."
The Dutch champion also hinted that Red Bull is planning a limited‑run of upgraded parts for the race weekend, a move that could see the team field a spec‑car that differs from the one used in the previous two rounds. While Verstappen did not disclose specific components, he emphasized that the upgrades are the result of "months of data gathering" and are designed to close the performance gap to Mercedes and Ferrari, who have been edging Red Bull in recent races.
