Rafael Camara Gears Up for Special F1 Debut with Haas in Sao Paulo
The Brazilian driver acknowledges a steep learning curve ahead of his first Formula 1 race.

Rafael Camara, the 23‑year‑old Brazilian driver who has been making waves in the FIA Formula 3 Championship, will make his Formula 1 debut for the Haas team at the upcoming Brazilian Grand Prix in Sao Paulo. According to Formula 1, Camara has expressed a realistic view of the challenges that lie ahead, noting that there is a lot to learn before he can compete at the front of the grid.
Camara will be sharing the Haas seat with the experienced Nico Hülkenberg, who has been with the team since 2022. The pair will take turns racing at the season finale, a move that Haas says will give the young driver a chance to gain invaluable experience in a top‑tier car while still providing Hülkenberg with a competitive outing. The decision comes as the team looks to build a stronger foundation for the next season, and the Brazilian’s impressive performances in lower formulae have earned him a place on the Haas roster.
In a brief interview, Camara said, “I know there is a lot to learn, but I’m excited to be here. The car is a big step up from the F3 cars I’ve driven, and I’m looking forward to getting used to the power, the aerodynamics and the race pace.” He added that he will focus on adapting to the new environment and making the most of the opportunity to showcase his talent on the world stage.
