Delhi has a special relationship with Formula 1. The Buddh International Circuit — just 45 km from CP via the Yamuna Expressway — hosted three Indian Grands Prix between 2011 and 2013. Those races built a core fanbase in the NCR that never went away, and now that India's return to the calendar is a serious conversation again, the energy is back.
Where to Watch in Delhi-NCR
Ministry of Beer, CP: One of the most reliable F1 venues in the capital. Multiple large screens, a crowd that includes genuine fans, and staff who know to switch on Sky Sports F1 for qualifying. Pre-book a table for race day.
Cyber Hub, Gurugram: The corporate crowd here skews young and international. Several bars across the Hub have screens; Social and Hard Rock are the most consistent. European races work perfectly with Saturday brunch timings.
Hauz Khas Village: More informal — check announcements from individual bars. The village atmosphere makes late-night Americas races more bearable.
Buddh International Circuit
The BIC is technically operational for domestic events. If you haven't visited, it's worth the drive just to walk the pitlane and stand at the exit of Turn 3, where DRS zones made overtaking here some of the best of the hybrid era. No F1 race is confirmed yet — but keep watching.
NCR Fan Communities
Delhi F1 fans organise through WhatsApp groups that surface on r/F1India before major races. The Lights Out newsletter covers Delhi-specific meetups — subscribe to stay in the loop.
