Formula 1 has unveiled its 2027 race calendar, a move that will reshape the rhythm of the championship for the next season. According to Formula One World Championship Limited, the schedule will include ten sprint events – the highest number ever in the sport – spread across the globe. The decision, announced in a joint statement with the Audi Revolut F1 Team and reported by Williamsf1, aims to add excitement and strategic depth to the traditional race weekend format.

Under the new structure, each sprint race will run a 100‑kilometre sprint, determining the grid for the main Grand Prix. The main races will still follow the usual 305‑kilometre format, but the added sprint races mean teams will have to manage tyre strategies and car reliability more carefully. The calendar also introduces a mix of classic circuits and emerging venues, ensuring that fans will see familiar tracks like Monaco and Singapore alongside newer additions such as the planned Bahrain sprint.

From a logistical standpoint, the 2027 calendar maintains the 22‑race total that has become standard in recent years, but the increased sprint count will test teams’ resource allocation and driver stamina. The governing body has stated that the sprint format will remain for the next five seasons, giving teams ample time to adapt. For Indian fans, this means more on‑track action and a greater chance to see their favourite drivers compete in high‑pressure, short‑duration battles.

For India, the 2027 season will be available on FanCode, the official streaming partner for Formula 1 in the country. Fans can watch every race live with commentary in Hindi and English, and the platform offers exclusive behind‑the‑scenes content. The Indian time zone (IST) will see most races broadcast in the evening, typically around 8:30 PM, making it convenient for viewers across the subcontinent.
